Biography
Sheila L. Y. Sakashita has more than 35 years of experience representing owners, landlords, tenants, builders and investors in all aspects of the acquisition, sale, financing, leasing, due diligence and construction of both commercial and residential properties.
She represents both lessors and lessees in drafting and negotiating ground leases and advises clients in connection with ground lease and space lease rent negotiations.
She has resolved title issues involving trusts and estates and has successfully resolved disputes among property co-owners without litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner in large preeminent Honolulu law firms. She is a past Chair of the Real Property and Financial Services Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association and is also licensed in the District of Columbia.
